I had hoped that you’d be different
Apparently NOT
Living in a fairytale world got me caught
Caught up in a façade of possibility
Only you didn’t really see me.
You saw what you could get
Questions came that you refuted with your absence
I guess when certainty and uncertainty meet it’s always a disaster.
True you don’t owe me anything, but what happened to common decency?
What happened to being adults and talking about things?
Still, I had hoped that you’d be different
But instead, you decided to turn your back and be inconsiderate
I guess that’s what I get for falling into the mirage of what appeared to be formidable
Some said you gave it up too early, guys will say anything to get it.
This I know, but the initial connection made me think I wouldn’t regret it.
I had thought you’d be different, but you proved that wrong.
I could be mad, angry, and disgusted, but instead, I carry on.
This mistake I choose to learn from and in time my disappointment will subside.
Now I know that you aren’t different and everything was just a LIE.
